The National Institute of Music and Dance is pleased to announce the first call for applications for the “Dancing Together, Again!” creative residency project implemented under the Creative Europe program. Its main objectives include cultural exchange, interaction between artists, producers and dance researchers with an emphasis on the creative process and integration with local communities. Applications for the project can be submitted until January 31, 2023.

The program includes residencies organized from 2023-2024 in Georgia, Croatia, Italy, and Poland, respectively. The first of the residencies, i.e. the one to which this call for applications pertains, will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia, between May 29 and June 17, 2023. It will be co-organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance and the Arts Research Institute of Georgia. Its topic will be the study of audience development models. Participants will gather data based on interviews with the local community, and then creatively transform the findings into original artistic statements. The residency will be curated by Prof. Dr. Levan Khetaguri and Prof. Dr. Iuri Mgebrishvili.

Who can participate in “Dancing Together, Again!”?

The project is addressed to all people involved in dance who work in one of 3 groups:
– artist/artist – choreographers and dancers ,
– curator/curator – producers, organizers and presenters,
– researcher/researcher – philosophers, theorists, historians, critics, documentarians and kinetographers

This call for application involves no restrictions based on age, cultural background or special needs. The organizers will provide participants with adequate space for creative work, accommodation, food, insurance, stipend, and reimbursement of transportation costs.

Residency participants will be selected in the course of calls for applications organized simultaneously in all partner countries: Georgia, Croatia, Italy, and Poland. Applications should include a biographical note, portfolio/CV and a video presentation.

Applications can only be submitted electronically until January 31, 2023 via the Microsoft Forms app.

The results of the call will be announced by February 28, 2023. Applicants will be informed of the positive decision by email, and the results will be published online at www.nimit.pl.
