Check out the news in our Library:


The library is located on the second floor of the building at 8 Aleksandra Fredry Street in Warsaw. Open from Monday to Friday from: 8.00-16.00.

As of March 22, readers of the Library of the National Institute of Music and Dance are again allowed to visit and use the reading room on an individual basis, subject to sanitary discipline.

Use of the resources will be possible after prior notification of the desire to come, by e-mail. To reserve a place, please send inquiries to: czytelnia@nimit.pl or call +48 22 829 20 08.

Reading room activities:

  • Tuesday 10.00 am – 2.00 pm
  • Thursday 10.00 am – 2.00 pm
  • Friday 10.00 am – 2.00 pm

The Institute’s library collects, compiles and makes available publications, audio, video and other materials relating to dance, music and, to a basic degree, theater. These collections are made available on-site in the reading/media room.

The library here is a space where you can learn, expand your interests, develop your passions, attend author meetings and participate in organized library lessons.

Currently, NIMIT library readers and visitors can enjoy 7242 copies (all items in the library) including 1307 books on dance, 1485 books on music, 967 video recordings, 1371 audio recordings, 787 periodicals, 1018 sheet music publications and ephemeral prints related to Polish music and dance culture.
