One of the activities thanks to which foreign audience can become acquainted with current Polish art of dance is the website polanddances.pl. It contains information about the activities of dance institutions, NGOs, informal groups and individual artists.

With the widest possible dance offer, the polanddances.pl website will be an export product for NIMiT’s foreign activities, including the International Tanzmesse Fair and the global choreographers’ network / Dance ICONS platform. To meet the expectations of the dance community, the National Institute of Music and Dance is launching a year-long call for Polish artists, institutions, NGOs and informal groups. The recruitment regulations are available on the website of the National Institute of Music and Dance under the link.

– We have created a user-friendly design and interface, made the site easier to navigate, added new filters for easier searching of information. We believe that the new, improved website will make it easier for foreign curators, producers and festival programmers to get in touch with Polish artists and start fruitful collaborations – says Mateusz Czekaj, Programme Specialist at the Dance Department of the National Institute of Music and Dance.

Apart from the website, the Institute is also actively working on cooperation between Polish artists and foreign choreographers within PolandDances / Choreographic Residencies. Still in December, three performances will be created to be presented internationally in 2022. The selected performances include: a performance for the youngest audience aged 3-6 years, a performance co-created by a hearing and deaf actress, and a street dance performance.

The PolandDances project is realized in cooperation with the National Institute of Music and Dance and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
