With the last residency and the final presentations in Warsaw, the two-year creative residency programme ‘Dancing Together, Again!
Between 2023 and 2024, the National Institute of Music and Dance, together with the Arts Research Institute of Georgia, TRAFIK Dance/Theatre Company and Movimento Danza, organised creative residencies for artists, cultural managers, curators and dance researchers in Georgia, Croatia and Italy, ending with final presentations in Poland. The aim of the project was to promote cultural exchange and international cooperation, with an emphasis on the creative process and integration with local communities.
The programme was co-funded by the European Commission under the Creative Europe Programme (Culture strand).
The residencies lasted almost three weeks, giving participants time for creative practice and reflection.
From 27 May to 18 June, the residency in Tbilisi focused on audience development and artistic processing of the knowledge gathered during the interviews. Participants were introduced to Georgian dance and local artists. At the end of the residency, five artistic projects were presented at an international festival.
The residency in Rijeka, which took place from 4 to 24 September 2023, focused on sustainability in dance and performing arts. It consisted of workshops, performances and visits to environmental sites.
The residency in Naples, which took place from 4 to 18 March 2024, focused on inclusivity in dance, focusing on intergenerational, intercultural and issues concerning people with different movement abilities.
On 10-11 August 2024, Warsaw hosted the final event, which presented the results of the residencies in Tbilisi, Rijeka and Naples. The event included 20 presentations, including dance performances and films, which encouraged reflection and dialogue between artists and audience.
There were 40 artistic events throughout the programme, reaching more than 3,000 viewers both live and online. We encourage you to watch the video summarising the events!
