Following a decision by the Director of the National Institute of Music and Dance, the Grotowski Institute in Wrocław has been appointed as co-organiser of the Polish Dance Platform 2026.

This decision was made following a recommendation by the Competition Committee.

The bid submitted by The Grotowski Institute received the highest score in the substantive evaluation. Consultations confirmed that the organisation is well-prepared and that a well-thought-out strategy for the development of the contemporary dance scene has been formulated. This strategy is both in the context of the Polish Dance Platform 2026 and from a long-term perspective. The winning bid demonstrates the following key strengths:

  1. The company has an established international standing. The Grotowski Institute’s extensive network of contacts and partnerships is instrumental in promoting Polish dance on the global stage.
  2.  Local cooperation: The Institute is committed to fostering open communication with the diverse dance community in Wrocław.
  3. Significant potential for substantial outcomes. A clear and well-defined vision for the development of the discipline is required, combining the prestige of the event with the real needs of artists.

The competition procedure:

In accordance with § 8 sec. In accordance with Rule 1 of the Competition Rules for the Co-organisation of the Polish Dance Platform 2026, dated 3 March 2025, the selection process was conducted in three stages.

  • Stage I will take place from 2-10 December 2025. A formal and substantive analysis of the submitted bids has been conducted.
  • Stage II is scheduled to take place on 15 December 2025. We will be holding consultations with the bidders.
  • Stage III is scheduled to take place on 16 December 2025.

The committee convened to formulate the final recommendation during the meeting.

The Competition Committee is composed of the following members:

  • Kaya Kołodziejczyk represents the Society of Authors ZAiKS.
  • Ms. Matuszewska is a representative of the Union of Polish Stage Artists (ZASP)
  • Karolina Wycisk is a representative of the Dance Art Community Forum Association.
  • Ewa Opawska is a representative of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
  • Maria Opałka is a representative of National Institute of Music and Dance
